Ensure the destination guide-creating system works properly#279
From my understanding, the system should create a destination guide for a location once it has 2 Places assigned to it.
However, this seems to not be the case as a few even have 3 Places, yet no destination guide. Examples are:
Monterrey, Mexico
Girona, Spain
Then with two Places:
Matsumoto, Japan
Perth, Scotland
Bienno, Italy
Chur, Switzerland
Australian locations might be particularly affected:
Myrtleford
Fremantle
Hamelin Pool
Edrom
Broome
If anyone else is aware of others, please share them here.
A perhaps related issue that still seems to be happening, at least occasionally, is that destinations don’t get updated when new places are assigned to them. Hurricane, Utah is still showing just 2, even though Quail Creek Reservoir was added a couple of weeks ago now. West Chester, Pennsylvania also is still showing just 2, altho the helicopter museum was only added yesterday.
Echternach, Luxembourg is the latest affected one. And Matsumoto has 3 Places now.
There had been talk about maybe raising the number of Places needed before a guide is created. It’s currently supposed to be 2, and two new locations haven’t had guides yet. Lehighton, PA and Punta Gorda, FL join Bienno, Italy.
With the above in mind, those will be the last 2-Place ones I bring up as examples here and will now only mention the 3+ ones, which is currently just Matsumoto that I’m aware of.
Fukuoka, Japan now joins Matsumoto on the list of locations with 3 Places but no destination guide.
Lakeland, Florida has 4 Places and no guide.
@Nicola, Matsumoto and Scranton, PA are the only cases with 3 Places and no guide I’m currently aware of

Hi @Nicola, in addition to Birgu above, San Juan, Philippines also has 3 now without a guide having been created.

And back to Stavanger, while the guide now DOES show more than 8 Places, it seems like the latest (10th by my count) didn’t get added for some reason. It’s missing when you scroll to the end of the Stavanger link:

@linkogecko I’ve updated Panaji. Looks like Stavanger is showing the 9th place on my end. Perhaps it was a caching issue? Unless you still do not see it?

The issue with Stavanger wasn’t the 9th Place, but the 10th (Døvekirke). This one is still not showing in the guide on my end.

Stavanger seems correct on my end now, thanks @Nicola. But the issue with “9th Places” is definitely still there. Not sure when Auckland got its 9th, but it’s currently at 10 and still just showing the top 8:
