Ability to check on suggested edits#437

I’ve submitted edits to two places recently … but they seem to just go into a black hole. I don’t see the updated information on the pages, making me think the edits have either been ignored or rejected, but I have no way to tell. (oddly though, on the pages my name is listed already under the “Edited by” part)

I’ve now made the same suggested edit to one particular listing (which has an incorrect and mangled address) multiple times, to no avail. Again, would be great to know if the page is still wrong purely because nobody has had a chance to vet the edit, or for some other reason.

My two edits are still not showing, and no idea why…is nobody checking these anymore?

https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/watts-towers (the “Know before you go” part is incorrect, as there’s no access anymore other than the guided tour, no way to do self-guided ones) and https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/sodbrunnen-rennweg (the address is both incorrect and malformed)

If any developer is interested in an example of a site where you can check on your suggested edits, FindaGrave is a pretty good one. You can see all the edits you’ve submitted to grave entries, sorted by Pending, Accepted, Declined, and Cancelled. On the other hand, FindaGrave is practically administered by the users, and each grave entry basically belongs to the creator or the people they transfer it to. Admins don’t personally review every suggested edit. Still, it might be interesting to look into.

Thanks @Mike Walker it’s great to have an example. I think this would be a great feature for the profile page so you could keep track of the status of your edits.
