Improve processes for assigning a Destination to a Place and avoiding duplicate Places in the Atlas#59

On 29 April, Dunure Castle was posted. Its nearest place is Dunure Labyrinth 0.07 miles away. Despite this, the location for the Castle was assigned as Ayr, while the Labyrinth was assigned to Dunure

Ayr is about 6 miles away from both. If the Places team had a look at Nearby Places before posting the new ones, I think a lot of these location issues would be avoided. Same goes for duplicates.

This case was only used as an example, but similar ones have been happening regularly.

Hi @Nicola, as per your comment on #225, I would like to make the case for this suggestion to be reopened.

This week has just started and there are already a few examples showing that this issue is still going on.

By not using the spelling “Tromsø”, this wasn’t added to the destination guide: https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/arctic-alpine-botanic-garden

Looking at the Nearest Place, I think that an Antalya destination guide would’ve made the most sense: https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/expo-2016-antalya-turkey

And this is one of mine scheduled for tomorrow, just like with Tromsø, the different spelling means it won’t be added to the correct destination guide: https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/korea-mexico-friendship-bell

I updated the title to be a little clearer on our end, but certainly continuing to use Nearby Places will help us find these cases.
