Do y'all need help editing member-added places?#355

Just offering my help! I’ve contributed a few places over the years and noticed that while they used to get added after only a month or two it’s now been months since I submitted a couple places and I haven’t heard anything. I’d be happy to lend a hand as an editor if you need it.

Hi @nickblossom! I’m so sorry about the delay on your submissions. We’ve had an especially high volume of submissions over the last year, and sometimes entries fall through the cracks in our editing system. I just looked yours up and got them onto the publication schedule for the next few days.

I really wish that they would add some kind of ‘first check’ for trusted members to do. They literally have people wanting to work for free, and they just don’t want it for some reason.

I would suggest some sort of peer review system like what is used in scientific publications. The editors could collect contact information for people who have already submitted and published large numbers of articles (like the refrigerated crustacean) and then ask other people to evaluate the articles. Some sort of grammar check (Microsoft Word?) could be used to check the spelling and grammar, and the articles could then be published with little intervention by the people maintaining the website.
